Build complex toys and simple tools

When I lived in New York City, there were plenty of zoos to chose from. There was the Bronx Zoo, the Central Park Zoo, and the Queens Zoo. Living in Northern Virginia, the nearest zoo is in Washington, DC. It's not the biggest of zoos, but it has many charming creatures and, like most attractions in DC, it's free.It was my first visit to this zoo and we were only there for a few hours. The day was hot and the zoo was crowded, but it was still a fascinating place. I managed to snag a few pictures that made the day worthwhile.
![]() This young creature, standing on spindly legs, waits in the wings until it's time to perform. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The famous comedy team known as The Three Ducks performs their "standing on one leg routine." When the audience sees this one, they really quack up. ![]() A portrait of Mr. Lion. When this guy roars, it's loud, really loud. I wonder if the people who live near the zoo can hear him. ![]() what's for dinner tonight? ![]() Mr. Lion, transformed into another domain, using Divisionism. Although the other lion pictures were interesting, they are too realistic. This is the version that hangs on my wall, ![]()
Some technical notes: The pictures were taken with my Panasonic DMC-LF1 camera and post processing was done with LightZone 3.
